ARP Detection Period

0

Can anyone tell me what the "Detection period (in ms):" setting means for the ARP protocol in the capture preferences? I'm a little confused by it. We're seeing some funny things with ARP going on and I wonder if the default settings mean we might be missing something.

Thanks for any help.

It's comments says:

Period in milliseconds during which a packet storm may be detected

which, together with the other two settings define how an ARP packet storm may be detected.
