If you select an IP address and select "Manually Resolve Address" the name resolution is not stored in any file: the name to IP resolution is stored in memory (i.e., after you manually input the mapping). Now, if you save the current capture file as a PCAPNG file then that file will contain that name to IP mapping in a Name Resolution Block in the PCAPNG file (so that it is available the next time you load the file). answered 28 Aug '14, 06:17  JeffMorriss ♦ |
